Ruiyang Group Northeast Cable Co., Ltd. Marks Disaster Prevention Day with Hands-On Training

May 12, 2026 marks China's 18th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, themed “Everyone knows safety, everyone can respond – strengthening disaster preparedness and response.” From May 11 to 17, the country observes Disaster Prevention Awareness Week.

Ruiyang Group Northeast Cable Co., Ltd. went beyond banners and brochures. On May 10, the company invited an external safety expert to deliver targeted training that integrated real‑world risks of cable manufacturing – dense equipment, high power loads, and material storage.

Theory Meets Practice

In the company’s main conference room, Instructor Tang used the event’s theme as a starting point. He explained risk control in key areas, fire hazard inspection methods, and preventive measures and evacuation techniques for fires, earthquakes, lightning, and floods. Special attention was given to workshops, warehouses, and electrical rooms. A recent fire case video from a manufacturing plant vividly showed how small oversights can lead to major disasters.

Skill‑Based Drills
The training also covered smoke protection from cable insulation materials, first aid for high‑voltage electrical accidents, and plant emergency evacuation routes.

Following the theory, participants practiced using dry‑powder and CO₂ extinguishers and connecting fire hoses. Under instructor guidance, they performed the “pull, aim, squeeze, sweep” procedure to correct past mistakes. A smoke tent simulation trained employees to evacuate in low visibility and irritating conditions using the proper low‑posture, mouth‑and‑nose covering, wall‑following technique.
