Strengthening Resilience: Training and Competition Boost Disaster Prevention Skills

In order to enhance overall disaster prevention and mitigation awareness, improve emergency response capabilities, and enrich employees’ knowledge and skills in disaster relief, Ruiyang Group Northeast Cable Co., Ltd. organized a series of thematic activities. These events were closely aligned with this year’s theme of disaster risk reduction: Everyone Prioritizes Safety, Everyone Can Respond – Identifying Hidden Hazards Around Us. Through a combination of theory and practice & learning and competition, the company promoted deeper understanding and engagement in safety education.

The company’s safety officer delivered a systematic explanation of preventive measures, evacuation techniques, and first aid knowledge related to common disasters such as fires, earthquakes, lightning strikes, and floods. Using a major fire incident that occurred on April 29, 2025, as a case study, special emphasis was placed on the importance of fire safety. The causes of fires, types and usage of fire extinguishers, and fire prevention measures were explained in detail to help ensure all employees can truly prioritize safety and be prepared to respond.

The contest covered topics such as fire rescue and prevention, self-rescue measures during floods and lightning strikes, and more. All employees participated via mobile phones in a timed quiz format. Ultimately, 20 employees were awarded the title of Safety Knowledge Champion and received gifts in recognition of their active participation in the training and enthusiastic involvement in the contest.

Through these diverse activities, employee enthusiasm for learning was greatly stimulated. Participants expressed that they would apply what they had learned into actionable practices, working together to foster a safe and stable production environment.

Disaster prevention and mitigation are essential for ensuring the safety of employees and the stable operation of the company.
