  • Shelf Life Management: Many accessories have finite shelf lives. Pre-molded rubber components may stiffen over years; sealing mastics can cure or dry out. A strict "First Expired, First Out" (FEFO) inventory system is essential.


Preparation for Installation: The Final Inspection


Even perfectly stored accessories require careful handling immediately before use.

  • Conditioning: If stored in cold conditions, allow accessories to warm to ambient temperature inside their sealed packaging. This prevents condensation from forming on cold surfaces when opened.

  • Visual Inspection: Before opening, check for any signs of package damage, crushed cartons, or water staining. Upon opening, verify that sealing bags are intact and that components are clean and undamaged.

  • Kit Verification: Confirm that all listed components are present and that they match the specific cable size and type for the intended installation.
